A sunny warm afternoon in the Virginia countryside. Can’t wait for their wedding in June…

Katie and Ty showed me around their home in Portland Maine, visiting the old harbor, downtown and a perfect New England lighthouse. Maybe it was their hospitality. Maybe the city grabbed me. But I came home from the trip wanting to move there.

They’re getting married on an island off the coast in Maine in the fall.

It can’t come soon enough.

On the Big Island of Hawaii.

It would be foolish for me to try and tell you what days like this mean to me. I am normally good at this kind of thing, but sometime I really don’t have the words. Except thank you.

I am slowly catching up on a rather large backlog of weddings and engagement to post and there is lots more coming. Here are a few from Hillary and Brad’s gorgeous wedding day in Arlington Virginia. More to come.

Caroline and Ben’s wedding is going to be awesome.

Dani emailed me asking if I was available to shoot her wedding on a day I was supposed to be in Hawaii.

But something came through in her email. Her story, about her and Evan, and their wedding plans. And her passion. Not just for her wedding plans and for her family, but to have me there to photograph the day. There was no way I could say no. So I changed my plans, I came back from Hawaii early, and we made it work.

And I’m so glad I did.

I’m so glad to get back to blogging. There are so many couples stories I want to share with you all, and I promise to get to them as quickly as possible.

Hillary and Brad are two of my favorite people, so for now, here’s one from their wedding. More soon.

There are still weddings and shoots from this fall that I haven’t been able to share. This is just a simple note to some people that deserve it. To my friends, my fellow photographers, the wonderful blogs who have supported and encouraged me, and helped share my work with people. To the people that have asked me to share things with them.

And mostly, to my wonderful couples who put their trust in me. You’ve asked me to share your wedding day with you and to leave you and your families with the way I saw the day.

I cannot thank you enough for that. It has meant the world to me.
