Mei-Lin + Martin / Washington DC Wedding

I try not to write too much when I post a wedding on my blog. I like it best when I can let my photos tell the story of the day. Mei-Lin and Martin deserve a little something extra though.

Martin and Mei-Lin are from England and brand new to the U.S. and to Washington DC. Their families are scattered across the globe, so it was impossible for most of them to be there on their wedding day. They invited a handful of their closest friends. Mei-Lin’s dress was flown in from England. They exchanged vows at an early morning Buddhist ceremony before visiting Rock Creek Park. They invited their friends to their flat in Adams Morgan for a lunch reception for food, drinks and dancing. They brought their parents to the party with the help of Skype and their Macbooks.

They wanted something special and different.

It wasn’t big, stuffy or traditional.

But it was totally them. And it was pretty perfect. I hope I captured it well enough for them both. Congratulations Mei-Lin and Martin.
